Tour details

Kol-Tor Lake is one of the most scenic alpine lakes near Bishkek, tucked away in Kegeti Gorge about 90 km from the capital at an elevation of 2,725 metres.

The trail winds through Tian Shan conifer forests and alpine meadows, covering around 8 km one way with approximately 900 metres of elevation gain. Along the way, sweeping views of the Chuy Valley unfold — and at the top, the lake's vivid turquoise water set against rocky peaks and spruce trees makes the effort completely worth it.

The hike suits travellers with a moderate fitness level. Season runs from late May through September.

The day tour with Intourists includes a transfer from Bishkek and a professional guide throughout. Early morning departure, back in the city by evening — a full mountain day without the logistics headache.
