Tour details
A two-day trek to two high-altitude lakes in the Kochkor district of Naryn Region — one of the most rewarding multi-day routes in central Kyrgyzstan.
Kol-Ukok Lake sits on the Terskey Ala-Too ridge at around 3,050 m above sea level. Its meadows are dotted with edelweiss, and the clear, cold water — up to 17 m deep — is home to trout. En route to the lake, the trail passes a cascade of smaller alpine lakes in various shapes, one of the most scenic sections of the whole journey.
On day two, a side trip leads to Kol-Tor Lake at 3,500 m, with panoramic views of the Tian Shan peaks. The total walking distance is approximately 24 km, with 450 m of elevation gain and 900 m of descent.
Overnight in tents by the lake or in a yurt. An optional dinner with local residents is available. Season: June–September.
