Kyrgyzstan / Issyk-Kul Region
Barskoon + Skazka Canyon + Southern Shore of Issyk-Kul
Barskoon Gorge is one of the most spectacular valleys on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul.
Tour details
Barskoon Gorge is one of the most spectacular valleys on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul.
Tucked into the Terskey Ala-Too mountains, it is home to two legendary waterfalls: Manas Bowl, said to have been formed by the handprint of the epic hero Manas, and Tears of the Snow Leopard — a dramatic 100-metre cascade tumbling down sheer cliffs.
From the gorge, the route continues to Fairytale Canyon — a surreal landscape of red sandstone and clay sculpted by wind and water over millions of years. The towering formations, resembling castles and mythical creatures, feel like stepping onto another planet.
The day ends at the shore of Issyk-Kul, one of the world's largest alpine lakes.
Transfer from Bishkek, a professional guide and canyon eco fees are all included in the tour price.
