Tour details
A packed one-day trip to Issyk-Kul combining three completely different experiences: a canyon walk, a lake cruise and a hot spring soak.
Kok-Moynok Canyons sit 170 km from Bishkek in Boom Gorge, near the western shore of Issyk-Kul. Formed over a million years ago through shifts in the lake's water level and tectonic activity, the canyons are defined by their striking orange-red rock — the colour comes from high iron oxide content in the stone. The unusual terrain has earned the nickname "Kyrgyz Mars."
After the canyons, the route continues to Issyk-Kul for a cruise on a motor boat with views of the Tian Shan. The day wraps up at a natural hot spring — the perfect way to unwind. On the drive back, a stop for dinner and freshly baked Kattama flatbread rounds out the day.
The route is easy, with minibus transfers between all locations.
