Tour details
Ala-Archa Reservoir is one of the most photogenic spots near Bishkek. Every spring, meltwater fills the reservoir and floods the surrounding poplar forest, creating a rare natural spectacle: for a few weeks, you can paddle a SUP board or kayak right between the rows of submerged trees, while herons and cormorants nest in the branches above.
The on-water route covers around 5 km across several zones — open water, narrow tree corridors and the densest part of the flooded forest. Before setting off, an instructor gives a full safety briefing and accompanies the group throughout.
A picnic area is set up on the shore. Please bring food and water from home — there is no supply stop en route.
